SUPPORT GUIDE - DOORS

DO YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE PROBLEMS?

  • The door is difficult to operate
  • The door binds
  • The door is leaking

The reason is that the wood gives way. All Outline elements are made with Scandinavian pine tree wood. As wood is a natural material, e.g., made of living material, it will work according to the season and therefore it may be necessary to adjust its elements during the course of the year.

In the autumn/winter, there is greater humidity, which means that the elements will ‘expand’. Therefore, the windows should be adjusted to achieve the right functionality despite temperature fluctuations and changes in humidity. Perhaps the strike plate needs to be loosened so that the window does not tighten or bind, thus achieving a better seal.

ADJUSTMENT OF THE STRIKE PLATE

The strike plate on the frame can be adjusted if required during the transition from summer to winter; this can be done by bending the ‘tongue’ outwards or inwards, until the door closes tightly into the frame.

ADJUSTING THE SECURITY STRIKE PLATE

There are two different types of security strike plate: the strike plate at the cylinder and cremone bolt can be adjusted. The strike plate is adjusted with a torx 15. The second one with a 3 mm allen wrench.

ADJUSTMENT - DAYLIGHT WINDOW DOORS

Daylight window doors can be adjusted in the directions up-down and sidewards. All adjustments are done by first opening the frame and using a 4 mm allen key.

SOME GOOD ADVICE

Be sure to lubricate and maintain the brackets and hinges at least once per year.
